Question: with a tagline like “Bourbon. Beer. Rock”, how can you go wrong?  Answer: you can’t.  Every Friday is Devil’s Night Happy Hour at this good-whiskey-and-craft-beer mecca in the East Village, and if you’re around on September 16th, check out their one-year anniversary party: $1 whiskey shots all night and $1 craft beers until 8pm.  Rock on.

Formerly the private office and saloon of ‘20s tycoon John Campbell, this very classy lounge at Grand Central Station is awe-inspiring.  They’ve recently opened an outdoor addition, the Campbell Terrace, where you can sip your Manhattan and talk out the corner of your mouth in style.  Tip: weekdays the commuter crowd flocks here for happy hour.

Drinking in Manhattan: The Whiskey Ward

We can’t believe we’re quoting It’s A Wonderful Life, but there’s one part in the film where Nick the bartender is all, “Hey look, mister – we serve hard drinks in here for men [ed. note: and women] who want to get drunk fast.” That’s Whiskey Ward and their astonishing selction of whisky.  Plus, they have a pool table for all you sharks.  Anyone up for a game?
