Sightseeing in NYC

Posted in Sightseeing with tags , , , , , , , , on August 3, 2011 by quiksilverpronyguide

You can’t come to NYC and not do at least ONE tourist-y thing.  Well, yeah, you can, but…who wouldn’t want to see the Statue of Liberty while speeding around the East River in a boat that looks like a shark?

Some suggestions (be prepared for long lines or crowds on the weekends and some weekdays):

Empire State Building

If you drop a penny from the roof, it can kill someone.  We think.

350 Fifth Ave, Suite 300

212-736-3100

Statue of Liberty

They opened the crown again!

Liberty Island

212-363-3200

Central Park

A classic destination. Check out the food vendor trucks at the old Tavern on the Green location.

110th Street to 59th Street

212-310-6600

Times Square

You can’t hit up the peepshows anymore, but you can totally go to Chili’s.

40th Street to 53rd Street btwn 6th & 8th Avenues

212-768-1560

The High Line

This crazy new park is built on an elevated train line that runs from the Meatpacking to 34th Street.  There are great food options and great views…like the rooms at the Standard.

Gansevoort Street to West 34th Street, btwn 10th & 11th Avenues

212-206-9922

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Located right on the East River almost under the Brooklyn Bridge, it’s a great place to chill and drink a beer.

718-802-0603

Top of the Rock

Like the Empire State Building without the lines.

30 Rockefeller Plaza

212-698-2000
