Dining in Manhattan: Los Feliz

If your idea of tequila is the kind that comes in a jug with a handle, answers to Jose, and leaves you passed out on the bathroom floor, you need to rethink your tequila.  Start by visiting Los Feliz, a new tequileria that feels more old-school Riviera Maya than Tijuana.  Their menu is full of solid Mexican staples like tacos and an irresistible tres leches cake, but their tequila list is downright staggering, with 150 selections.  Local tip: they accept reservations for parties of 6 or more.

Dining in Manhattan: La Esquina

Too bad you can’t get tacos de chapulin (cricket tacos) here anymore. But you CAN get tamal de gallo (stewed rooster), lengua (look it up if you don’t know), and juicy slow cooked chicken tostados and carne asada served in the basement that started the whole speakeasy craze.  Plus, La Esquina has one of the most extensive tequila and mezcal menus in the city.  Don’t have time for a sit-down?  Grab a taco at the counter upstairs.
