Drinking in Manhattan: Sing Sing Karaoke

Posted in Bars/nightlife with tags , , , , , , on August 12, 2011 by quiksilverpronyguide

Sing Sing is one of the best spots for karaoke downtown.  It’s free in the front, but what you want is a private room, amiright? They’re affordable, you get your own server, and no one  is secretly laughing at your awesome version of “The Thong Song”.  Tip: they have a half-off karaoke happy hour that lasts until 8pm!

Drinking in Brooklyn: Saint Vitus

Posted in Bars/nightlife, Brooklyn, Local tips with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 10, 2011 by quiksilverpronyguide

As the name implies, Saint Vitus is a straight-up metal bar with live bands, Kill ‘Em All metal karaoke, and a weekly hardcore night.  $3 buns (cheese steak, sausage, bbq tofu and more) sop up booze specials like the Pope: a Coors Banquet tall boy and shot of Tullamore Dew with a Brooklyn Brine pickleback.  If we could live here, we would.  All hail Saint Vitus.
